Summary

EVALUATION OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY LEVELS OF STUDENTS WHO TAKE INCLUSIVE EDUCATION

Inclusive education is normalization and equal opportunity in education. Students with special needs should have self-care skills and social harmony in order to be productive and independent people in the society. Children with special needs have a more sedentary life than children with normal development. Therefore, physical activity levels of inclusive students should be increased. Physical activity is defined as the consumption of energy as a result of body movements with skeletal muscles. Considering the benefits of physical activity in terms of child development, it is clear that especially cognitive, social and physical activities are very important in the development of the child. The aim of this study is to determine the physical activity levels of the students who receive inclusive education and to compare them with the normally developing students. For this purpose, the "general screening model", which is one of the models that provides the opportunity to make a general judgment about the study group, was taken as a basis. “Physical Activity Questionnaire for Primary School Students” and Physical Activity Questionnaire for Older Children-PAQ-C scales were used. FAS has 9 articles. It examines the physical activities of the student in the last 7 days and the frequency of these physical activities. These questions are in 5-point likert type, which indicates the frequency of the behavior but prepared in different structures. The research was carried out in primary and secondary schools in the Malazgirt District of Muş Province. A total of 124 students participated in the study, 45 of which were inclusion and 79 with normal development. As a result of the research, it was revealed that the physical activity levels of the students participating in the study did not differ according to gender, class and being an inclusion student. According to the findings obtained in our research, it is seen that the physical activity levels of the students who receive inclusive education are high, and when the questions in the Physical Activity Questionnaire are taken into consideration, it is seen that the students' attitudes towards physical activity are at a high level.
