BIBLIOMETRIC ANALYSIS OF VALUES EDUCATION RESEARCHES BASED ON WEB OF SCIENCE DATABASE

The purpose of this study is to examine the scientific articles about values education in terms of bibliometric indicators. Case study method, one of the qualitative research methods, was applied in the study. The scanning range of bibliometric data from the WoS database generated by Clarivate Analytics covers the dates between 1975 and October 2019. The bibliometric analysis technique was implemented in the study. As a result of the analyses, it was revealed that 513 of 63,541,376 studies registered in the WoS database between 1975 and 2019 were the studies related to values education. It is also observed that 350 (68.22%) of these records are in the education / educational research category. In addition, it was concluded that the most common type of publication related to the education of values was the articles with a total number of 244. Also, it is seen that approximately 97 of the published articles have been published in the last five years. This ratio indicates that the educational researches about value education have increased in recent years. Again, at the end of the analyses, it was obtained that there are 357 different authors contributing to the related field. It was determined that a total of 194 different keywords were utilized in 244 articles and that the most effective journal is the “Journal of Education”. Moreover, it is understood that the researchers from 30 different countries have published some articles that contribute to the field. In this context, the most active country is Australia, and this country is followed by Turkey and Britain. That the four universities of Turkey with 36 articles are among the first ten countries out of 30 different countries indicates that some comprehensive studies are carried out in this field.
